How it works
One list, one link, one week board
Cuyahoga Care is a shared schedule for the help someone needs at home: who drives, who brings dinner, who stays over. Here is the whole thing.
1. The organiser starts a circle
Press Start a Care Circle. There is no sign-up: this browser now holds the circle, and you get an organiser link. Keep it somewhere safe (a note on your phone, a password manager). It is the only way back in from another device, and anyone holding it can change the circle.
2. List the help the week needs
For each kind of help: a short name, what kind it is (ride, meal, visit, errand, overnight stay, phone call, other), which days, a start time if it has one, and how long it takes. Example: "Ride to dialysis center" is more than we need; "Ride to Tuesday appointment" is enough.
Write tasks, not health details. Leave out diagnoses, medicines and conditions. The site does not need them and does not want them.
3. Add your helpers and send the helper link
Add each helper's first name. Then send the helper link yourself, the way you already talk: a family text thread, a call. Cuyahoga Care sends no messages. A helper who opens it picks their name and can claim open slots and release the ones claimed under that name. Names work on trust: there are no passwords, so anyone with the helper link can pick any name, the same as a shared paper sign-up sheet. They cannot edit the list, remove anyone, or see the organiser link. If a link travels too far, see below.
4. Watch the board
The board shows a week at a time, Monday to Sunday. Each slot is covered with a name, or open. At the top: how many slots are covered, the open ones listed, and the hours each person is giving this week. The free circle looks 2 weeks ahead; the Circle Pass 8.
5. Print the week
The week sheet is a clean one-page printout: every day, every slot, who is coming. Put it on the fridge.
If a link travels too far
The organiser can replace the helper link. The old one stops working at once; send the new one to the people who should have it. The organiser link cannot be replaced, so guard it.
What it will never do
- Send anyone to the house, or recommend a provider.
- Give medical advice, or ask about anyone's health.
- Email or text anyone, or show ads.
